He is responsible the legendary Thursday party at Don Hills - one of the longest running weekly parties in New York history. When I throw a party he's the first person I call, and if he's not available to DJ I pick another day.

My Parents (many years ago, in really good outfits.)

Both my taste and love of music stems from 3 key people in my life. My mom, dad and sister. They each have had their own unique influence on me. My dad, who still holds a grudge for scratching his Johnny Cash San Quentin record - is a lover of the classics. He loves jazz and instrumentals. I don't even attempt to make mixes for him - he plays music for me.

However something recently did surprise me. He was visiting me in LA when we filmed the Charles Hamilton show. I dragged him to sound checks, rehearsals and finally his 1am show at the Viper Room. I felt so bad, but it turned out that my dad had a great time, and was genuinely impressed by Charles. And believe me - if he didn't like him, I would have heard about it. He is the most easy going guy you'll ever meet - but he didn't let me win at Shoots and Ladders, and he's not afraid to offer his honest opinion when asked - no matter what. I love that about him.

He was very excited when I asked him to do a playlist, and I'm excited to share it.
